Maple Apple Tart

Pumpkin always steals the spotlight when fall arrives, but this delicious Maple Apple Tart recipe will give all those pumpkin desserts a run for their money!

Ingredients

  • 5 Maple Sea Salt MacroBars®
  • 3 tbsp plant-based butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2-3 honeycrisp apples, thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Press the Maple Sea Salt MacroBars into a 9” tart pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Then, add in the almond flour and cornstarch. Mix until fully combined.
  5. Spread the mixture (frangipane) into the MacroBar crust, then arrange the apple slices on top.
  6. Bake the tart for about 40-45 minutes until the frangipane has puffed up and no longer looks wet.
  7. Allow the tart to cool completely in the pan for at least one hour before serving.
