In the face of adversity, a mother and daughter
took their love to the kitchen, and GoMacro was born.

GoMacro began in 2004, after Amelia Kirchoff adopted a plant-based diet to help her battle breast cancer. During her journey, she created the original MacroBar recipe in her kitchen on the Wisconsin family farm. Instantly, she knew they had something she wanted to share with the world. Together with her daughter, Jola, they began selling them. They converted a milk shed on their family farm to a small commercial kitchen. In the face of adversity, they came together, fought the cancer, and Amelia won.

Today, MacroBars are still made just like the original recipe: with certified organic, plant-based ingredients. While the GoMacro team has grown, the company remains rooted in authenticity. The success of GoMacro has only fueled Jola and Amelia’s passion for spreading awareness to the world about the benefits of clean, balanced living. Now, Jola runs the business and when Amelia is not tending to the farm, she is working with the innovations team to develop new GoMacro recipes.

We carefully select fresh, wholesome, and delicious ingredients. Everything is 100% plant-based, coming from Certified Organic and Non-GMO growers who utilize sustainable farming practices. All of our products provide a nutritional benefit without any additives or preservatives.

Our Farm: Inspiring a balance with ourselves and nature

In the spring of 2000, we purchased a 120-acre farm in Viola, Wisconsin. We saw the farm’s potential and knew it would be special. We named it after a place in ancient Italy known for its impressive views called Posilippo, which is Greek for “pause from pain.” We worked hard renovating the barn, restoring the orchard, and planting a big vegetable garden. Posilippo is a reminder of our mission to take what we need from our planet and give back when we can, living in balance with ourselves and nature — this is where GoMacro started, and it still captures the essence of the brand more than 20 years later.
