In 2003, Amelia Kirchoff was diagnosed with breast cancer. After speaking with her daughter, Jola, Amelia decided to fight the cancer with a plant-based macrobiotic diet in addition to a local lumpectomy. In the face of adversity, Jola and Amelia came together, fought the cancer, and Amelia won. During her battle with cancer, Amelia created the first MacroBar recipe in her kitchen on the Wisconsin family farm. In the years following, Amelia and Jola began spreading the power of a clean, balanced lifestyle through GoMacro’s wholesome, delicious MacroBars.
Since the brand’s launch in 2004, GoMacro has grown from selling MacroBars in local food co-ops to making plant-based nutrition bars accessible nationwide. GoMacro is headquartered in Viola, Wisconsin, where MacroBars are produced with certified, high-quality ingredients. The success of GoMacro has only fueled Jola and Amelia’s passion for spreading awareness to the world about the benefits of clean, balanced living. Today, Jola runs the business, and when Amelia is not tending to the farm, she is working with the innovations team to develop the newest GoMacro recipes.

Our team works hard to get orders out as quickly as possible, but during times of high order volume (especially during promotional periods), your order may take 5-10 days to process and ship from our facility. We offer three full-size MacroBars, one MacroBar Mini, and one Kids MacroBar that do not contain any nut ingredients, but we do use peanuts, tree nuts (such as walnuts and cashews), and coconuts in recipes for other MacroBars that are manufactured at the same facility. To prevent cross-contact and consistent with good manufacturing practices in the industry, our equipment is taken apart and thoroughly cleaned before manufacturing any MacroBars that do not contain nut ingredients. However, we recommend those with severe nut allergies exercise discretion when considering consuming our products, as all of our MacroBars are processed in a facility that also processes peanuts and tree nuts.
The MacroBars that do not contain peanut or tree nut ingredients include:

Please reference the ingredient list on the product wrapper to check for major nut allergens (per the FDA, these are peanuts and the following tree nuts: almond, black walnut, Brazil nut, California walnut, cashew, filbert/hazelnut, Japanese walnut, macadamia nut, pecan, pine nut, pistachio, and walnut). Major allergens (such as peanuts and tree nuts) are provided on the label after the ingredient list and are identified following the word “Contains:” which is bold so you can spot the major allergens more easily. While coconut is not a major food allergen according to the FDA, if used, you will find coconut and any related coconut-derived ingredients in the ingredient list. We take food safety very seriously here at GoMacro and take precautions to avoid cross-contamination because we understand our customers may have food allergies, dietary restrictions, or intolerances. Our allergen program includes consistent application of good manufacturing practices, appropriate labeling of products containing major allergens, and segregated storage for tree nuts (per FDA these are almond, black walnut, Brazil nut, California walnut, cashew, filbert/hazelnut, Japanese walnut, macadamia nut, pecan, pine nut, pistachio, and walnut) and peanuts we have at our manufacturing facility. Our bars that contain no peanut or tree nut ingredients are manufactured using equipment that is taken apart and thoroughly cleaned prior to manufacturing these bars. We also qualify our suppliers and conduct a thorough analysis and vetting of all of our suppliers'ingredients to ensure there is no cross-contamination with undeclared major allergens.

The FODMAP Friendly certification program was the first registered certification worldwide certifying FODMAP levels in food products that have been laboratory tested to be low in fermentable oligo-, di-, monosaccharides, and polyols (FODMAPs). This certification is designed to enable consumers with symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) who are following a low-FODMAP diet to easily identify and select suitable packaged food products.

Yes! All GoMacro products are Certified Gluten-Free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO).
Being Certified Gluten-Free by GFCO means that all GoMacro products contain less than 10 parts per million (ppm) of gluten per bar. In comparison, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s gluten-free label rules call for foods to contain less than 20 ppm of gluten. Both finished products and incoming ingredients are also tested for gluten on a regular basis.

Our warranty provides a guarantee against manufacturer defects.
The guarantee covers any manufacturing, design, or material defect. Please notify us within 2 months of noticing any defects.
It does not cover blows, improper use, or other issues that are not attributable to a manufacturer defects. -
Yes! All GoMacro products are USDA Certified Organic.
Having the USDA National Organic Program certification means that our products only contain ingredients that are grown and processed according to federal guidelines addressing soil quality, pest and weed control, the use of additives, and more. Organic producers must use practices that cycle resources, conserve biodiversity, and preserve ecological balance. For produce and grains, this includes utilizing natural fertilizers, eco-friendly pest management, and protecting soil and water.

Yes! All GoMacro products are Certified Vegan through Vegan Action.
This means that GoMacro products do not contain any animal products or byproducts and have not been tested on animals.

Yes! All GoMacro products are Certified C.L.E.A.N. by the International Center for Integrative Systems.For products to be Certified C.L.E.A.N., they must be Conscious, Live, Ethical, Active & Nourishing. All GoMacro products proudly meet the qualifications for products to be Certified C.L.E.A.N., including:
- They must be Conscious, or safe, based on an evaluation of our food safety policies and practices and product shelf-life testing.
- They must be Live, meaning that a majority of the ingredients (at least 70%) must be organic.
- They must be Ethical, meaning that the ingredients must be 100% non-GMO.
- They must be Active, which means that the product’s key molecules collectively maintain their shelf-life enzymatic activity, as verified and scored by a particular CytoSolve test.
- They must be Nourishing, as determined by the Aggregate Nutrient Density Index (ANDI) Score.

All MacroBars are best if enjoyed by the date printed on the package.

FDA food labeling rules require both “total sugar” and “added sugar” to be listed in the Nutrition Facts. “Added sugar” refers to any sugar added to the product during processing, or any food packaged as sweeteners (such as table sugar), whereas “total sugar” is the sum of both added sugar and any sugars that occur naturally in other ingredients. For example, if a MacroBar has 7g of added sugar and 8g of total sugar, that means 7g of sugar comes from sweeteners (in our case, brown rice syrup and/or coconut sugar), and 1g comes from sugars that occur naturally in other ingredients.
Many food manufacturers use artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols, and/or sugar substitutes in their products, which may allow them to market their products as “sugar-free” or “0g added sugar.” GoMacro never uses artificial sweeteners in our products. We recommend reading all label information, including ingredient lists and Nutrition Facts, to understand what’s inside.

Because our products are perishable, we’re unable to accept returns. That said, if your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or doesn’t meet expectations, please reach out to our Customer Care Team within 30 days of receiving it, and we’ll gladly review the issue.

To update your credit card, log into your GoMacro account, select "Subscriptions", click "Billing Information", and choose "Update Card". From here, enter your new card details, then click "Update Card" again to save.
