The World Is Yours: Earth Day 2023
Conservation, reforestation, and other ways GoMacro is working to preserve our planet.
Earth Day comes every April, and with it our annual reminder to be a little kinder to our planet. Now named one of the Earth’s largest movements, Earth Day has become a highly recognized holiday that is observed by people around the world.
As we celebrate Earth Day 2023, our hope is to inspire others to support environmental movements and build a healthier and happier community.
Planting Trees Reduces Carbon Emissions
Planting a tree is a great way to take part in the national celebration of Earth Day. When trees are planted, it does more than just visually enhance the space and surrounding environment. Trees provide food and shelter, helping communities achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability. Trees also filter the air and help reverse the impacts of climate change. In fact, a mature, leafy tree produces as much oxygen in a season as 10 people inhale in a year.
Not only are trees the anchors for plant and wildlife biodiversity, but they also aid in water filtration and retention efforts, and reduce the amount of carbon that is released into the atmosphere.
Reforestation Efforts Help Our Planet
Forest restoration has become an area of increasing interest and activity in recent years, ranging from small-scale efforts to large-scale international commitments. It’s proving to be an issue that many people are passionate about. According to a study from the University of Oxford, the best method towards reversing global warming is to plant trees which helps eliminate carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Here at GoMacro, our goal is to actively take part in the reforestation efforts in America. As part of our carbon offset program through ClimeCo, we have planted over 66,000 trees in the Mississippi River Valley basin near the Gulf of Mexico within the last three years. ClimeCo is leading the fight against global warming, making it easy and affordable for any individual, business or organization to reduce and offset their climate impact.
Final Thoughts
As a closely-held, organically-grown business, we pride ourselves on taking consistent action to offset our carbon footprint. We are passionate about all things sustainable and believe that our planet should be celebrated and taken care of, not just on Earth Day, but every day!
