Solutions for Change

We're proud to partner with Solutions for Change to help in their mission of solving family homelessness in America. They equip people in every stage of their journey with the skills, knowledge, and resources to permanently solve their homelessness.

We also worked with Solutions for Change to help kick off their “#GivingTuesdayNow” campaign. “#GivingTuesdayNow”, a global day of unity and giving, was created as an emergency response to the unprecedented need for kindness, donation of goods, time, money, advocacy, and care caused by COVID-19.

A portion of net proceeds from year-round sales of our Everlasting Joy MacroBar® goes to Solutions for Change. Their three main projects are:

• Solutions Academy
  A comprehensive 700-day vocational program that prepares families for lifelong success through career pathways, work experience, leadership training, family management skills, teamwork, financial literacy, personal development, accountability and connection. The goal is to inspire students to retain and maintain employment, be better parents and citizens, become healthy, and find stable housing.

• Solutions Enterprises
  A collection of social enterprise programs that empower residents to learn and earn. These are designed as a work ethics “laboratory” to grow personal capacity.

• Solutions in the Community
  Solutions for Change partners with local organizations to tackle tough local issues the community faces.

With each purchase of an Everlasting Joy MacroBar, you help support empowering and educating people to gain stable employment and housing.

Through hope-filled purpose, the incredible work of Solutions for Change has helped transform so many lives in the community. Here is a sample of their accomplishments and milestones:

• Provided transformative services to 1,250 families

• Helped over 2,500 children

• Established the Solutions Family Center – a five building living and educational campus for homeless individuals

• Launched Finding Our Way Home Initiative in 2010, a commitment to end family homelessness

• Formed the Solutions Academy - the only full-service leadership development residential program for homeless in the country

• Launched #GivingTuesdayNow

Founded in 1999 by social entrepreneurs Chris and Tammy Megison, the mission of Solutions for Change is to solve family homelessness – one family, one community at a time. Prior to starting up the organization, the Megisons developed and directed work and housing programs that helped thousands of homeless men get jobs, pay rent, and earn their way back into society. Through their work, they discovered that the existing programs were inadequate to deal with the needs of many families. Big solutions were in order, and with the help of other community leaders, a new foundation was born.

Solutions for Change creates access for parents to the right set of opportunities, addresses root causes of dependency, and equips people with the skills, knowledge, and resources to permanently solve their homelessness. The organization is based on three pillars: educational programs, social enterprise programs that empower people to learn and earn, and resident's investment of time to help their communities.
